In a climate of immense concerns about mis-sold mortgages, a number of complaints have been lodged with the Financial Ombudsman .
The Financial Ombudsman Services received 2,796 complaints between July and September this year.
This figure has increased from 2,044 in the previous quarter.
Just a third of these were resolved in favour of the consumer in Q3, whereas, in Q2 36% of complaints were resolved in favour of the consumer.
The FOS also received 895 complaints in Q3 relating to mortgage endowments, with 28% resolved in favour of the consumer, up from 603 in Q2 and 26% resolved in the consumers' favour.
Complaints which were related to the mis-selling of payment protection insurance figured at the fore of complaints to the FOS in Q2.
Such complaints accounted for 38% of all complaints, credit cards representing 11.5 per cent of complaints, with current accounts representing 8.5% of complaints and mortgages 5.5%.
